Hari and Ratan picked up the skills very fast and now they can start using the tablet to collect field data for Rabi season.

To view the data follow these steps.
1. Go to http://data.krishimitra.org/odk
2. wait for few seconds for page to redirect.
3. click on the first option “sign in with Aggregate Passwrod”.
4.enter user name “guest”
5. enter password “welcome”

Once you are successfully logged in
to see bar/pie charts, click on the “Visualize” button.
to save the data to excel sheet click “export” button.

One of the concerns was theft of tablet while using outdoor. As these are expensive its quite justified. we can use tablets for now and in future we will use Android phones.

Next Steps:
1. Participants to start collecting rabi crop data.

2.Bhart Bhau to send us Waghad’s project level crop planning data in a weeks time. We will put the data on krishimitra.org web site.

Our sincere thanks to Belsare Sir for providing us the venue and arranging food.

admin <![CDATA[Data Collection with Tablet at Waghad Project]]> http://krishimitra.org/?p=52 2012-03-05T02:53:20Z 2011-12-28T14:15:37Z We will be using Open Data Kit on Android Tablets to collect Water User Associations (WUA) data and Waghad Dam’s canal data during this rabbi season. Every day discharge from Waghad dam main canal and live storage level is communicated to 3 people at project level WUA. Each of total 25 WUAs take reading of minor canal 4 times a day. We will be capturing this data at Project Level WUA.

All the captured data will be immediately available online. Once everyone is familiar with this system we can build SMS alerts, data analysis, reporting applications.

Update: We have decided to abort WUA data collection to focus on crop data collection. With limited resource and people we have to do the most important things first.

admin <![CDATA[First steps]]> http://krishimitra.org/?p=47 2011-12-28T13:29:30Z 2011-12-08T13:25:16Z We met at Yuva Mitra’s Sinnar campus to decide the scope and approach of the project. With the limited resources at hand the task ahead seems gigantic. We will be doing small experiments and learn from them, one step at a time.
We wanted to evaluate netbooks and tablets for the field data collection. Help came in time, folks from OpenGear Networks have donated us a Acer Netbook. We will be using the netbook for on field data collection starting this rabbi season. This will help us in understanding user experience and get started immediately.

Thanks Ganesh and Narayan.
