Corporate Sports Day— Play for Purpose

Organized Sports Day events at three industrial campuses: Aptec Equipment, Parker Plant India, and Apollo Inffratech Group.

More than 1000 employees participated across 3 companies. They came together to play cricket, kabbadi, badminton, carrom, chess, and table tennis. What started as friendly matches turned into a meaningful way to support villages in North Gujarat.

What We Achieved

Raised ₹6,60,000 through these events and corporate sponsorships. The funds are being used to:

  • Organise sports day in village schools and donate sports equipment

  • Set up hands-on Vigyan Viplav STEM labs in village schools

  • Conduct farmer education workshops for small holder farmers

A Few Memorable Moments

  • Cricket Surprise:
At Parker Plant, during a cricket match, one of the senior staff members who hadn’t played in years ended up hitting a six in the final over. His teammates cheered, and he smiled, saying, “Didn’t think I still had it. Glad it went to a good cause.”

  • Friendly Rivalries:
At Apollo Carmix, a chess game between two departments led to lots of laughs and healthy competition. After the match, someone joked, “Now we finally know who’s better—production or HR.”

  • Carrom and Confidence:
At Apollo Inffratech, a quiet intern joined the chess tournament and won a few surprising games. Afterward, he said, “I haven’t played since school. Felt nice to contribute in my own way.”

  • Ping-Pong Pairing:
In one table tennis match, a junior employee and the plant manager paired up for doubles. They didn’t win, but said it was the first time they got to talk outside of work. “This was more fun than a meeting,” the manager joked.

"These events weren’t just about raising money—they brought people together. They showed that even small efforts, when done together, can support meaningful change in rural communities."

Ayan Patel, Founder.

"If your organization would like to host a Play for Purpose day, I’d be happy to help set it up."
